The foundations of Ekinciler Iron and Steel date back to the 1960s. Ali Ekinci, who entered the industry as an iron trader, recognized the role of iron and steel in national development early on and established Ali Ekinci and Sons Collective Company in 1968. The rolling mill established by the Ekinciler family in Karabük in the 1970s further strengthened the economic vitality brought by the iron and steel factory, which had been founded in 1937 under Atatürk’s vision. As a result, Karabük became a key hub for iron and steel production in Turkey. In 1983, the foundation of Ekinciler Iron and Steel Factory was laid in İskenderun. Ekdemir, with its rapid growth, began carrying the flag of the Ekinciler Group and solidified its position in the sector.

Established in 1983, Ekinciler Iron and Steel Industry Inc. became the first private sector iron and steel facility in Turkey, contributing not only to its sector but also to the country's economic structure, providing valuable contributions to infrastructure projects through its production processes. Our company also played a major role as the flagship company in the group’s transition to a holding structure.

Since its inception, Ekinciler Iron and Steel Industry Inc. has continuously grown and developed with its innovative production approach, technological investments and highly qualified workforce. It ranked 72nd in Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises in 2021 and 103rd in 2022.
